 The ideal way to begin that adventure is with SSI's Open Water Diver course. Under the guidance of a professional SSI Instructor, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy a lifetime of underwater exploration.
Knowledge:
SSI's modular, six-session teaching system includes a video, manual, study guide, DiveLog and dive tables. And with SSI's home study approach, you will be able to minimize your time in the classroom allowing for more time in the water developing ability and comfort.
Skills:
In multiple pool and open water session, you will practice scuba skills with SSI's exclusive Comfort Through Repetition teaching method. Some of the skills you will learn include:
- Moving in the water with ease
- Breathing normally under water
- Controlling buoyancy so you neither descend nor ascend
- The easiest ways to enter and exit the water
- Getting water out of your mask or mask clearing
Equipment:
Since you can't dive without equipment, there is extensive information on scuba equipment including: Selecting the best diving equipment for your needs and budget Maintaining and adjusting your equipment to extend its life and improve performance.
We offer you this course as an All-Inclusive-Arrangement including:
- Complete training materials = Open Water Diver Kit incl. training book, work book and training record
- Total DiveLog
- Diving permissions and entry fees (if necessary)
- Multimedia theory sessions or time independant home study version
- 5 pool sections in a local indoor swimming pool
- min. 5 open water dives
- Certification after successful completion of theoretical and practical tests with Certificate and internationally accepted ID-Card
- Complete rental equipment, adjusted to local water conditions, consists of cold-water regulator incl. octopus, dive jacket (ADV), 7mm neopren semi-dry suit, gloves, hoods, tank, weights etc.
- Courses start on your request. The additional dates (for Theory, Pool and Open Water Training) will be set according to the time schedules of the course participants to ensure a maximum flexibility for every dive student.
- Complete Course will be held in english, with english materials
All attended dives will be testified by the dive instructor in the Total DiveLog, which is part of the Open Water Dive Kit. This premium dive log will be your partner for your next dives. All dives and continuative trainings will be testified in this log book and verified with special stickers.
Also the dive log will show you the next possible steps in your dive career according to the number of dives and the specialty courses you may take part in. The minimum age for the Junior Open Water Diver is 10 and for the Open Water Diver 15 years.
Prerequisite for the training in the water is a full health examination. This examination , including a pressure test in the hyperbaric chamber will be held according to the medical guidelines of the EUBS (European Underwater and Baromedical Society on Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine) and could be booked in addition to your Junior Open Water or Open Water Diver course by "our" dive doc for 20,- €.
